This past week, the Urban Connection bid a bittersweet farewell to two of our regulars, Billy & Michelle, who have recently secured housing that will get them off the streets and on the road to a better life.

For someone without a solid network of family and friends, it doesn’t take much to end up on the street. One missed paycheck, one lost job, one injury, and suddenly things begin to spin out of control.

Starting in January, residents of Skid Row will have access to better dental care than ever before. That’s a huge blessing for people whose teeth have been ruined by years of drug abuse and neglect.

The need for an overflow winter women’s shelter is immediate and pressing. For that reason, we have offered our 3rd floor to homeless women who would otherwise be left in the cold.
