Mission Statement

By looking at Christ’s example, we saw that what people need is a relationship in order to heal and be saved – And it’s hard to build a relationship through traditional volunteer tasks on Skid Row.

The Urban Connection decided to make a home on Skid Row with the intent of becoming a place where volunteers can create long-lasting relationships with the people in the Skid Row community. Because of this, our volunteers are able to be more effective than ever. Instead of trying to solve all of Skid Row’s problems in one trip, our volunteers can focus on connecting the homeless to the great staff and disciples of Urban Connection, with whom they’ll begin building strong relationships. It’s a win-win for everyone.

Mission Statement

Urban Connection is a homeless ministry with a 3 fold mission to:

1. LOVE the lost and forgotten people of Skid Row by connecting with them through outreach and providing for their physical and spiritual needs…Matthew 25:31-46

2. EQUIP them by connecting them with the training needed to become productive members of society and/or the work of ministry for the building up of the body of Christ…Ephesians 4:11-12

3. SEND OUT into the world as productive member of society and/or into the mission field to use their gifts and make disciples and baptize in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…Matthew 28:16-20
